Breadcrumb 12 - Ginger Bread

It didn't take long for our little Rye to take advantage of the situation. He dragged an old table to the front yard, took some pieces of cardboard and crayon and stood for hours outside. While he made Tiger bake and bake, he would sell every single piece of cake, cookie or brownie. Tiger's tidbits were of course a great success. They were delicious, no one could disagree with that.

Breadcrumb 11 - Ginger Bread

I had been ready to run out the house, grab a taxi and drive through the whole town. And call the police in the meanwhile. And tell Ace to take his car and drive to the hills... Anywhere...

But then I received a call from Jessica.

Breadcrumb 10 - Ginger Bread

We started to seem a real little family in every way. Me, Ace and our two little boys. Though they weren't that little any more... Especially darling Rye started his first growth spurt and became quite some boy. It wouldn't take long now for him to be old enough to start to notice girls and then... No, I'm not thinking of that yet!
Okay, we might be a little out of the ordinary. Ace loved to take his drums to the park, playing whenever the time seemed right to him. Any time, thus.

We were so preoccupied with... whatever we were doing - being a happy, steady couple, I guess - that we just didn't notice something was wrong. Until... I did notice.

Where was Rye? Where the heck was Rye?!

Breadcrumb 9 - Ginger Bread

Even during my pregnancy I kept on running to the restroom because I kept on feeling sick. I had never heard of after-four-months-still-morning-sickness. Have you? Well, I had it...

And ever heard of the statement that giving birth to your first child is the worst? I did, and so I assumed this would be the easiest job in the world.

Not so!

Breadcrumb 8 - Ginger Bread

There are many things in life we can live without. You can happily live without a dishwasher (at least, most people can). You can live without a vacuum cleaner, if you really have to. But you can't live without a stove. You simply can't live without a stove.

Breadcrumb 7 - Ginger Bread

Okay, it didn't end there. We didn't just simply moved in together in my apartment. Or his. My apartment would be too small. And his was crowded with roommates. So we got this lovely place right next to the hospital (in case of emergencies that would come in handy - and as I'm such a such a nitwit that would definitely come in handy).

Breadcrumb 6 - Ginger Bread

I kept thinking about telling Ace.While cleaning my apartment...

... while thinking of inventions... Which was not really in my advantage, as I kept on hammering on my fingers.
And every How-To-Be-A-Mommy-book was talking about the influence and presence of a father. "The father should get involved with the child through rough-and-tumble play."

Breadcrumb 5 - Ginger Bread

Lately I had been pretty exhausted after work. As soon as I left the lab I started to see black spots and stars all around me. It probably just was the work load, I assume. I had also made promotion - YAY FOR THAT!

Breadcrumb 4 - Ginger Bread

Sooooo, here I am. Again. Dining. Together.

Breadcrumb 3 - Ginger Bread

It seems to me like these days you can find me in the kitchen anytime. It's not that I'm such a fanatic cook or something. Not at all, to be honest. But I've been inviting people all the time into my little apartment. And this particular evening I've invited Ace.

Who's Ace, you want to know?
